The next big thing in rope skipping is Fusion and it is really happening in Asia. New Fusion link soon. MEDAL GRADE PROGRAM LAUNCHED Singapore has launch the first medal grade program. Launched on 1 Sept 2010, the program is significant to the development of rope skipping in Asia by the mere fact that there will be more skipping where the most skippers are. THE JUMPING JEWELS MAKES HISTORY BY PERFORMING AT THE WORLD STAGE OF THE YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES - update The Singapore team, the Jumping Jewels have been given more shows at the Youth Olympic Games. They will perform 7 times, at the boxing, wrestling, fencing and gymnastics events. Their YOG page is here. A.R.S.C. ASIAN ROPE SKIPPING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010 - update This much anticipated championships will be held a Siri Fort Sports Complex in Delhi, India on 14th and 15th December. Our Indian member is busy finding the best registration package for participants and this will be announced as soon. This modern championship will be closed to India and open to the world providing the best opportunity for network and developing our beloved sport. WORLD RECORD 24 HOURS DOUBLE DUTCH SPEED This brilliant world record attempt really brought rope skipping into the internet age. Using the internet all 8 countries where linked by a speed counting software and internet chat software. It needs to be mentioned that of the 8 countries, 3 where Asian countries. ASIAN ROPE SKIPPING WORKSHOP WAS A GREAT SUCCESS The Workshop brought many skippers together to spread the religion of rope skipping. More on this soon. A.R.S.C. ASIAN ROPE SKIPPING WORKSHOP WILL BE IN ARMRITSAR The Workshop will held in the historical city of Armritsar in India. This way we have managed to bring down the workshop fee to attract even more participants. A.R.S.C. ASIAN ROPE SKIPPING WORKSHOP, 14-18 June 2010 - update This is a cutting edge Asian training designed for skippers, coaches, judges and rope skipping enthusiast. To prepare for the training you may download a copy of Rules of Competition at rules link. Judging score sheets will be available for download too. THE JUMPING JEWELS ARE PERFORMING AT THE YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES The Singapore team, the Jumping Jewels are thrilled to be performing at the Youth Olympic Games in August. This will be a tremendous first opportunity to showcase sport and show rope skipping to the Internatinal Olympics community and the world. Rope Skipping Singapore has assigned 3 coaches to the task of preparing the team for this epic milestone in rope skipping. ASIAN ROPE SKIPPING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010 - update This Asian will be held in India on 25-26 November 2010. Registration available in April 2010. THE JUMPING JEWELS WIN AT DDCJ The Singapore team, the Jumping Jewels have won the 30s double dutch speed event at the international DOUBLE DUTCH CONTEST JAPAN in Tokyo on 28 March 2010. The story here: www.jumping-jewels.com/ddcj9.html A.R.S.C. EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING The Executive Board meeting will convene at ARSC headquarters in Singapore on 15th March 2010 at 3pm. This is followed by dinner and informal discussions in the evening. All members are invited to this meeting cum dinner and social gathering. RULES OF COMPETITION The Sport Commission is open to your proposals to improve the Rules of Competition for the Asian Rope Skipping Championship in Singapore in November 2010. For the first time the competition is open to athlete outside Asia. Another unique feature is the double dutch freestyle event will be fusion which is street style double dutch. Registration available in April 2010. DOUBLE DUTCH CONTEST JAPAN Vol.9 The Jumping Jewels of Singpapore will be back in Japan for this awesome fusion competiton for the third year running. This is the first big international competition in Asia this year so if you have the time go see it on 27 - 28 March 2010. The Japanese have led the way of open competitons in Asia since 2007 when Singapore skippers competed the All Japan Rope Skipping Championships 2007 and DDCJ vol.7. 24 HR DOUBLE DUTCH SPEED This world speed challenge is organized by the good people at Planet Jump Rope namely Maarten Goedeme. This competition is another future looking idea for rope skipping. It will telecast on the internet for a world to spectate. Watch out for it on 3-4 July. This international meet on 26-28 June will see about 35 Singapore rope skippers in action. This is the third consecutive year Singapore rope skippers have enjoyed this Australian immersion. |
